A man, identified as 49-year-old Foluwa Rewane from Oshawa, has been arrested in connection with a road rage incident that led to a Clarington high school being put on lockdown. The altercation between individuals in two vehicles began off school premises before noon on Nov. 27.
As per the authorities, the suspect tailed the victim’s vehicle into a school parking lot near Brookhill Boulevard and Clarington Boulevard. Upon the suspect’s exit from his vehicle and a brief walk on school grounds, students spotted what they believed to be a firearm inside his vehicle. This prompted the school to immediately initiate a lockdown for safety measures.
Further investigation revealed that the alleged firearm was actually a BB gun. Despite this, Rewane faces charges for possessing a dangerous weapon and uttering threats. He was arrested without any issues and has been released on an undertaking.
