Fatal Shooting Unfolds Near Surrey’s Guildford Mall, Man Killed

A tragic incident unfolded in the vicinity of Guildford Town Centre, one of Surrey’s bustling shopping hubs, on Friday night, resulting in the untimely death of a man.

Responding to a call shortly after 11:30 p.m., officers from the Surrey Police Service (SPS) rushed to the area near 152nd Street and 104th Avenue. At the scene, they discovered the man critically injured, and despite efforts, he succumbed to his injuries.

The motive behind the shooting is currently under scrutiny by the SPS, who have ruled out randomness or extortion as likely reasons for the tragic event.

Taking charge of the investigation is the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT), with Sgt. Freda Fong informing 1130 NewsRadio that efforts are underway to establish the victim’s identity. The shooting occurred in close proximity to a gas station near the mall, and more details will be disclosed once the victim is positively identified.

Regrettably, this marks the sixth homicide in the city for the year 2025, as reported by the SPS.

Anyone possessing information or dashcam footage related to the incident is urged to contact IHIT at 1-877-551-IHIT (4448) or email ihitinfo@rcmp-grc.gc.ca.
