Saint-Henri Borough Celebrates Holidays with Annual Toy Giveaway Event
It’s the most wonderful time of the year in Saint-Henri borough, Montreal, as the Welcome Hall Mission hosts its annual toy giveaway event to support families in need in the city. Families facing financial struggles are welcomed with open arms to receive not just toys but a memorable holiday experience, ensuring they have a joyous festive season.
Sam Watts, President & CEO of Welcome Hall Mission, emphasized the importance of providing families with a fun and enjoyable holiday period, going beyond just distributing toys. The mission aims to uplift spirits and create lasting memories for those in need during the festive season.
This past weekend, over two thousand children had the opportunity to explore Santa’s workshop, select gifts of their choice, and participate in a special mission to help redesign Santa’s sleigh, all made possible with the help of 200 dedicated volunteers. As Sam Watts explained, the goal was to modernize Santa’s sleigh to ensure he can reach all children around the world more efficiently.
One attendee, Oluwabukola Adesola, shared her excitement as children picked out their own gifts with enthusiasm. The event brought joy and anticipation, with children like her son choosing gifts that sparked happiness and excitement for the upcoming holiday season.
On Sunday, Montreal Alouettes’ players Geoffrey Cantin-Arku, Josh Archibald, and Isaac Adeyemi-Berglund joined in the festivities to help distribute toys and spread holiday cheer to the families in attendance.
