Scarborough Supermarket Turns Shopping Into a Viral Dance Fiesta With Filipino Flair!

A festive atmosphere took over a local grocery store in Scarborough over the weekend as Seafood City, a popular Filipino supermarket chain, transformed into a lively dance floor for its renowned “Late Night Madness” party.

The “Late Night Madness” events, which originated in the U.S. in October during Filipino American History Month, have been creating a buzz among attendees.

In an effort to unite Toronto’s Filipino community through a mix of food and cultural celebration, the party was all about fostering family bonds and camaraderie, according to Melchor Salazar, a dedicated branch manager at Seafood City.

Many guests were drawn to the event after witnessing the spectacular moments from past gatherings that went viral on social media platforms.

“I saw how much fun people were having at the Mississauga party, and I just had to come here,” shared an excited participant.

For some attendees, the party served as a nostalgic link to their homeland, offering a sense of connection and belonging.

Reflecting on her experience, one attendee shared, “After living here for almost four years, I stumbled upon a TikTok video from another location and was instantly drawn to the vibrant atmosphere. It felt like a great opportunity to join fellow Filipinos and have a memorable time.”

As Seafood City gears up to spread the joy nationwide, more exciting events are scheduled throughout December, including stops in Calgary, Winnipeg, Mississauga, Edmonton, and a return to Scarborough.
