A woman is currently hospitalized with critical injuries following a stabbing incident that occurred in Scarborough during the early hours of Tuesday.
According to Toronto police, the incident took place around 7:30 a.m. in the vicinity of Markham Road and Select Avenue close to Steeles Avenue East, after receiving reports of a violent assault.
Upon arrival at the scene, law enforcement discovered a female victim with severe injuries. She was swiftly transported to the hospital, where medical professionals have deemed her condition as life-threatening.
The suspect is described as a male standing at approximately five feet eight inches tall, dressed in all black attire. After the attack, he fled in a light-colored sedan and is currently at large.
At this time, authorities have not disclosed additional information about the circumstances surrounding the stabbing or the relationship between the victim and the suspect.
Law enforcement is appealing to the public for any information, dashcam recordings, or surveillance footage that could assist in the investigation.
