Chaos in Toronto: Man Attempts to Seize Police Officer’s Gun During Frenzied Downtown Protest

Toronto police have reported an incident from a downtown demonstration where two individuals were arrested, one of whom allegedly tried to seize a gun from an officer.

According to investigators, the incident unfolded during a protest at Meridian Hall in the area of Front Street East and Yonge Street on the evening of December 3. The police were present at around 6:30 p.m. when the altercation took place.

A Toronto Police release described the event, stating that as officers were guiding demonstrators onto the sidewalk, one of the suspects assaulted an officer and made an attempt to disarm another officer. Subsequently, the suspect managed to escape into the crowd.

Following the initial encounter, the same suspect and a second individual reportedly followed someone leaving the demonstration, with the second person allegedly making threats towards the individual.

Law enforcement officials were able to apprehend both suspects without any further trouble. Thomas Zinderdine, aged 24 from Oakville, faces charges of assaulting a peace officer, disarming a peace officer, criminal harassment, and uttering threats. Meagan London, aged 21 from Toronto, has been charged with criminal harassment.
