“First Measles Outbreak Hits Quebec Since April: Case Confirmed in St-Eustache”

A new case of measles has been confirmed in the Montreal area of Quebec, marking the province’s first instance since April. The infected individual had visited a pediatric clinic in St-Eustache on Nov. 28, prompting concerns of potential further cases. Health officials emphasize that vaccination remains the most effective defense against the highly contagious disease. Previous outbreaks of measles in Quebec occurred between February and June 2024, as well as between December 2024 and April 2025, with a total of 36 cases reported this year excluding the latest one. Across Canada, there have been over 5,200 cases of measles in 2025, with a majority concentrated in Ontario and Alberta.
