“Lumino Ignites Montreal’s Night Sky for Its Spectacular 16th Year!”

Experience a Dazzling Winter Wonderland at Lumino Festival in Montreal

Get ready for a spectacular visual treat as the Lumino Festival returns to Quartier des Spectacles for its 16th edition, showcasing over 30 mesmerizing installations, video projections, and interactive experiences that illuminate the winter nights.

Transforming downtown Montreal into a captivating open-air museum, Lumino promises visitors a one-of-a-kind experience that has become a source of inspiration for light festivals worldwide.

Marie Lamoureux, the public relations senior advisor for Quartier des Spectacles, shared, “We’ve curated a diverse range of installations for Lumino this year. From stunning light displays to interactive artworks like ‘Sagesse de foule’ on Saint-Catherine Street where visitors can engage in a game of hide and seek with a playful light spot.”

Discover stunning creations by both emerging local artists and renowned international talents. Witness the enchanting outdoor pieces such as “Shadow” and “Anemonia” currently exhibited at the Esplanade skating rink and St. James United Church forecourt on Sainte-Catherine Street West.

The festival also features captivating video projections on prominent buildings within Quartier des Spectacles, offering a visual feast for all. These projections will be on display until the end of January, followed by a new series of artworks taking center stage.

Teo Leroo, the artist behind “Codex,” expressed his excitement, stating, “I’m thrilled to showcase my piece at Lumino this year at the BAnQ, offering a unique projection mapping experience that transports viewers through surreal landscapes in just five minutes.”

Explore the vast territory of Quartier des Spectacles, spanning one square kilometer up to St-Denis Street, where additional installations will be unveiled in January. Collaborating with students, the festival will feature interactive video projections and installations created in partnership with UQAM.

Lumino is a free event open daily from sunset until 11 p.m., running throughout the winter season until March 8, providing a vibrant and artistic escape to brighten up the winter months.
