Montreal Faces Freezing Temperatures and Wind Chill, Snow Possible Over the Weekend

Montreal residents are preparing for a significant drop in temperatures this week, with the added sting of wind chill making it feel even colder. Thursday kicked off with a touch of lingering flurries before transitioning to a mix of sunshine and clouds.

Midday on Thursday will see temperatures plummet to minus 9 degrees Celsius, with the wind chill making it feel more like a bone-chilling minus 21 degrees Celsius in the afternoon. As night falls, the skies are expected to be partly cloudy, with temperatures dropping to around minus 14 degrees and the wind chill making it feel closer to minus 23.

Friday will bring sunnier skies initially, later turning into a blend of sunshine and clouds by midday. The highs will only reach a frigid minus 7 degrees, with morning wind chills hovering near minus 19. The night will remain overcast, with temperatures hitting a low of minus 7.

Looking ahead to the weekend, Montrealers should brace themselves for continued cold conditions and the possibility of snowfall. Both Saturday and Sunday are forecasted to be cloudy, with a 60 per cent chance of flurries. Highs will vary between minus 1 to minus 9, while overnight lows could dip to a bone-chilling minus 12.
