In the early hours of Thursday morning, a licensed establishment in Montreal’s LaSalle borough was targeted in a shooting incident, as reported by the Montreal police.
The SPVM responded to a 911 call at approximately 1:15 a.m., alerting them to gunshots being fired at a business located on Thierry Street near Newman Boulevard.
Upon arrival, law enforcement discovered no individuals injured or present at the scene. However, the building’s exterior displayed numerous bullet marks and shell casings were found scattered on the ground.
Caroline Chèvrefils, the spokesperson for the SPVM, mentioned that witnesses recounted seeing one or possibly multiple assailants shooting at the commercial property before swiftly fleeing the vicinity.
Fortunately, as the business was closed during the incident, no casualties have been reported.
To investigate the matter further, police secured the area to facilitate a thorough examination by both investigators and the K9 unit for evidence collection. Additionally, authorities are scrutinizing surveillance footage from nearby locations in hopes of identifying potential suspects.
As of now, no individuals have been apprehended in connection with the shooting, and the investigation remains active.
