A 47-year-old man from Toronto has been charged in connection with a tragic single-vehicle crash that occurred last month in Scarborough. The incident took place on November 5, just before 7 p.m., when a grey Ford F350 pick-up truck was traveling north on Markham Road. The driver lost control of the vehicle, leading to a crash just south of Finch Avenue East.
Sadly, a 47-year-old woman who was a passenger in the truck lost her life at the scene. The driver sustained non-life threatening injuries and was transported to the hospital for treatment.
After a thorough investigation by Traffic Services, Hariharan Navaratnam has been charged with dangerous driving causing death in relation to the crash.
