Police Hunt for Hit-and-Run Driver After Pedestrian Seriously Injured in St-Leonard Smash

Montreal police seek public assistance in identifying the driver involved in a September collision in Saint-Leonard that left a pedestrian severely injured. The incident, as reported by Montreal police (SPVM), occurred on Sept. 23 at approximately 3:40 p.m. A white Ford F-550 pulling a flatbed trailer was heading south on Lacordaire Blvd. At the intersection with Saint-Zotique Street, two tires dislodged from the trailer, with one hitting a woman crossing the street with her children in a stroller. The woman sustained significant injuries, whereas the children were unharmed. The vehicle did not stop and continued southbound on Lacordaire Blvd. post-accident.

The SPVM’s Collision Investigation Module has shared a surveillance image of the vehicle in the hope of identifying the driver. Individuals with any information pertinent to the investigation are urged to reach out to 911 or their local police station. Alternatively, anonymous reports can be made through Info-Crime Montréal at 514-393-1133 or online. Reporting to Info-Crime Montréal could potentially lead to rewards of up to $5,000 for information resulting in the apprehension of suspects, subject to certain conditions.
