Poll Reveals B.C. Premier’s Support Wanes Amid Opposition Chaos, Angus Reid Reports

British Columbia Premier David Eby’s approval rating has declined to 40% in a recent Angus Reid poll, down from 53% in March. The potential reasons for this drop include a projected historic deficit of $11 billion this fiscal year and unmet campaign promises related to cost of living, housing, and health care.

The poll also revealed that Eby’s popularity surge in March was linked to tariff threats from the United States. Despite the internal issues within the BC Conservatives, Eby’s NDP faces a decrease in support. Only 19% of British Columbians have a positive opinion of the provincial Conservatives, with Eby now ranking as the seventh most popular premier in the country.
