Two Montreal businesses were targeted by gunfire overnight from Friday to Saturday.
Around midnight, several calls were reported to authorities regarding gunshots at a business on Mackay Street, near René-Lévesque Blvd., in the Ville-Marie borough.
Upon arriving at the scene, officers from the Montreal Police (SPVM) noted a projectile impact on the storefront and found a shell casing.
Despite many citizens being present around the incident, no one was injured, according to the SPVM.
Investigators will analyze footage from surrounding surveillance cameras and interview witnesses to identify the suspect.
An investigation is currently underway and a security perimeter has been established.
Later that night
In the Villeray-Saint-Michel-Parc-Extension borough, a commercial alarm was triggered around 2:15 a.m. for broken glass on Crémazie Blvd. near Fabre Street.
The front door window of the business was shattered when SPVM officers arrived. Several shell casings were found at the scene.
No suspects have been arrested. A security perimeter has been established to investigate the circumstances of the event.
