The start of the week brings bitterly cold temperatures to the area, with residents waking up to a frosty –12 degrees Celsius. Despite the presence of sunshine, the frigid air feels even colder with early wind chills plummeting to –22 C, making the morning commute a chilly challenge. Fortunately, the brisk winds are expected to ease up by noon.

As the day progresses, the cold snap persists, maintaining a steady –13 C in the evening accompanied by a biting wind chill of –20 C. While there is a slight moderation in conditions on Tuesday, with temperatures climbing to –7 C, it’s still chilly by winter standards. By early morning, a frosty wind chill of –18 C persists before clouds start to roll in.

Mid-week brings the promise of snow, starting on Tuesday night with a 60% chance of flurries that will continue through Wednesday and Thursday. Daytime highs range between –5 C and –2 C, with additional flurries expected on Thursday night as temperatures drop to –9 C.

A brief respite from the cold arrives on Friday, offering a mix of sun and cloud and a high of –4 C. However, the chance of flurries looms once again by nightfall. The weekend forecast remains unsettled, as Saturday brings another 60% chance of flurries and a high of –6 C, clearing slightly overnight. Sunday wraps up the week with a mix of sun and cloud and a high of –9 C.
