An elderly woman, aged 88, was tragically discovered deceased on a chilling Monday morning outside a senior living facility on Promenade des Îles in Laval’s Chomedey area.
Emergency responders received a distress call around 6:50 a.m. for a medical emergency near the Villagia residence on Île Paton, as reported by the Laval Police (SPL).
Upon arrival, the woman’s passing was confirmed at the scene. Nearby, a walker and personal items were found where she had been located.
The circumstances and cause of her passing remain unknown at this time.
In line with the investigation, law enforcement has transferred the case to the coroner’s office. CityNews attempted to obtain further information from the coroner but has not received a response yet.
With temperatures as low as minus-24 Celsius at 9 a.m. in Laval, the situation may have been even harsher when the woman was discovered.
The senior living facility, referred to as an RPA, has not yet responded to our request for comments.
