York Regional Police are set to reveal the outcomes of an extensive cross-jurisdictional inquiry named Project Wrangler through a media briefing slated for Monday morning.
The event is slated to occur in Aurora at 10 a.m.
Police Chief Jim MacSween and Superintendent Simon James will be accompanied by high-ranking officials from various collaborating agencies, including Peel Regional Police Chief Nishan Duraiappah, London Police Service Chief Thai Truong, Toronto Police Service Chief Superintendent Joe Matthews, and Ontario Provincial Police Chief Superintendent Karen Gonneau.
Initiated by York Regional Police in the spring of 2025, Project Wrangler was launched in the wake of a string of violent occurrences in southern and eastern Ontario, as well as Quebec. The investigation was set in motion in response to offenses such as murder, attempted murder, attempted abduction, armed robberies, home invasions, vehicle thefts, and other grave crimes.
The upcoming press conference is anticipated to shed light on the arrests made, charges filed, and the broader ramifications of the operation.
