Montreal’s REM Service Disruptions: What You Need to Know
Commuters in Montreal should brace themselves for some travel disruptions in the coming days and weeks, as planned service outages are set to impact the Réseau express métropolitain (REM).
Starting from Monday, Dec. 8 at 9 p.m. until Tuesday, Dec. 9 at 5:30 a.m., there will be no REM service between Côte-de-Liesse and Deux-Montagnes stations. Similar disruptions will occur on Tuesday to Wednesday, Dec. 10, and Wednesday to Thursday, Dec. 11.
A more extensive service halt is scheduled from Friday, Dec. 12 at 9 p.m. until Saturday, Dec. 14 at 9 a.m., with a temporary full line closure. This will repeat on Friday, Jan. 9 to Saturday, Jan. 10.
Additionally, there will be a longer service interruption from Friday, Dec. 26 at 2 a.m. to Monday, Dec. 29 at 5:30 a.m.
The closures are necessary for testing in anticipation of the upcoming launch of the Anse-à-l’Orme branch, as explained by a representative from Pulsar Opérations et maintenance, the operator of REM. Shuttle buses will be available to assist transit users during these periods.
