Birchmount Park Collegiate Institute in Scarborough, Toronto is under a precautionary hold-and-secure following sightings of an individual with a firearm in the vicinity.
Authorities received a report at approximately 1:10 p.m. on Tuesday regarding the concerning situation.
According to a statement shared on social media, the firearm was observed outside the school near Danforth Avenue and Birchmount Road.
Fortunately, there have been no reports of injuries linked to the incident.
The suspect is said to have escaped the scene in a dark sedan.
