“Montreal Summit Finale: G7 Digital and Tech Leaders Conclude Pivotal Talks Today”

The G7 Industry, Digital, and Technology Ministers Conclude Montreal Meeting with New Digital Agreements

Montreal, Canada – The G7 industry, digital, and technology ministers wrapped up a two-day meeting in Montreal today as part of Canada’s presidency of the G7 group of nations this year.

During the event, Artificial Intelligence Minister Evan Solomon announced groundbreaking digital agreements with European partners. The agreement with Germany aims to enhance collaboration on artificial intelligence, quantum technology, digital sovereignty, and infrastructure.

Furthermore, Canada solidified two agreements with the European Union, one focusing on the responsible adoption and development of AI, and the other on cooperation concerning digital credentials.

This development is significant against the backdrop of growing discord between the EU and the U.S. regarding AI regulation.
