Toronto Crowned Top City in Unenviable Rat Infestation Race

Toronto has reclaimed its title as the most rodent-infested city in Canada, according to Orkin Canada’s latest annual rankings.

Orkin Canada’s 2025 list, based on rodent treatments conducted between August 2024 and July 2025, shows Toronto outpacing Victoria for the top spot. Vancouver, Burnaby, and Richmond follow closely behind in the top five positions.

The return of Ottawa and Moncton to the top 10 highlights the expanding rodent populations across various regions in Canada, indicating a nationwide issue.

Ontario cities, led by Toronto, dominated the rankings, with Mississauga, Ottawa, and Scarborough also securing spots in the national top 10. Orkin Canada’s breakdown by province underscores the widespread nature of the rodent problem.

As rodent activity continues to increase, Orkin Canada advises residents on simple measures to prevent rats and mice from infiltrating homes and causing havoc.
