Dillon Dube, the final member of Canada’s 2018 world junior team to sign with a team after being cleared of sexual assault allegations alongside four other players, has accepted a professional tryout offer with the St. Louis Blues in the American Hockey League.
The agreement was disclosed by general manager Doug Armstrong, marking the 27-year-old’s transition to the Blues. Dube, along with his teammates Michael McLeod, Alex Formenton, Cal Foote, and Carter Hart, were exonerated by a judge in London, Ontario, following legal proceedings stemming from a 2018 incident.
Among the acquitted players, only Carter Hart currently plays in the NHL with the Vegas Golden Knights. Cal Foote recently joined the AHL’s Chicago Wolves, while Alex Formenton is competing in Switzerland and Michael McLeod in the KHL in Russia.
Dube is set to join the Springfield Thunderbirds once his work visa is finalized, having previously played 42 games for Dinamo Minsk in the KHL last season. He was part of the Calgary Flames organization from 2018 to 2024.
Earlier this season, St. Louis had brought winger Milan Lucic on board with an AHL professional tryout, but later released him from the arrangement.
