Authorities Confirm Identity of Human Remains Found in Niagara-on-the-Lake
After months of investigation, the Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS) Homicide Unit has successfully identified the human remains discovered in Niagara-on-the-Lake earlier this year.
A human skull was first found in August 2025, followed by the recovery of full skeletal remains on Sept. 3 in the same area. Detectives have revealed that these remains belong to a 24-year-old Black male from Toronto, who had been reported missing and was last seen in May 2022. To respect the family’s privacy, the victim’s name is not being disclosed.
Authorities suspect that the homicide took place between late 2021 and the spring of 2025. The NRPS Homicide Unit, in partnership with the Toronto Police Service (TPS), is actively leading the investigation to uncover the truth behind this tragic incident.
