Toronto authorities have apprehended a 24-year-old man after a series of alleged assaults in various locations across the city, including subway stations and bustling intersections.
The incident on Dec. 8 at Jane Subway Station led officers to the suspect following reports of an assault on a female commuter. Allegedly, the man proceeded to assault another woman while leaving the station, causing non-life-threatening injuries to both victims.
After the arrest, further investigation connected the man to several other alleged assaults that occurred earlier on the same day and in recent weeks.
The individual is suspected to be behind three violent incidents, including an assault near Yonge Street and Greenfield Avenue on Nov. 10, and two separate assaults on Dec. 8 at Bathurst Subway Station and Dufferin Street and Bloor Street West. Additionally, he robbed a woman at Bathurst Subway Station, resulting in non-life-threatening injuries in all cases.
The suspect, identified as Aymen Dhea, 24, with no fixed address, has been charged with four counts of assault and one count of robbery. He was set to appear in court on Dec. 9.
Authorities are concerned that there may be more victims and have released images of the suspect to the public. Described as male, five feet eight inches tall, with a thin build, he was last seen wearing a black jacket with a ripped sleeve, a grey hooded sweatshirt, black and red pants, and running shoes.
Police are encouraging anyone with information to contact investigators or report anonymously through Crime Stoppers.
