Catastrophic Watermain Burst Unleashes Chaos in Brampton, Emergency Repairs in Full Swing

An area in Brampton has been cordoned off to drivers following a watermain burst that submerged the street during the cold weather spell in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA).

The incident occurred at the intersection of Queen Street East and Central Park Drive at approximately 1 a.m. on Thursday.

Authorities have indicated that the westbound lane of Queen Street has been restricted to one lane near Central Park, and Central Park itself is shut down between Queen Street and Hanover Road.

Brampton municipal workers are currently on site to rectify the watermain rupture.

The timeline for when the affected area will be accessible to traffic remains uncertain.
