Longueuil Crackdown: Two Key Suspects Nabbed in Saint-Lambert Extortion Spree

Longueuil authorities announced the apprehension of two individuals linked to a string of extortion cases involving several Saint-Lambert businesses earlier this year.

According to a statement released by the Longueuil Police, members of the Organized Crime and Major Crimes unit apprehended Abdel Camara, 20, and Mohamad Jamil Allo, 20, on Thursday morning as part of their ongoing investigation.

The arrests came following a thorough inquiry under Project CABOSSE, which was initiated after a series of threats and criminal activities directed at local restaurant proprietors, the police disclosed.

The initial incident, dated Aug. 28, saw a 16-year-old individual visiting three establishments in Saint-Lambert – Café Limousine, Cru Oyster Bar, and Primi Piatti – brandishing envelopes containing ammunition and menacing notes demanding sums ranging from $5,000 to $7,500 under the threat of retaliation.

Subsequent events unfolded on Sept. 29 when an attempted arson targeted Café Limousine, followed by a destructive episode at Primi Piatti on Sept. 30. The latter incident resulted in significant property damage amounting to “hundreds of thousands of dollars,” as confirmed by Longueuil police.

Previously, three other suspects, namely Elisha Edens Louis, 19, of Montreal, Bastien Beckham Akimana, 19, of Lasalle, and a minor, had been apprehended in connection with the aforementioned incidents.
