Montreal’s First Snow-Removal Operation of the Season Begins Friday
Get ready, Montreal! Snow-removal trucks are hitting the streets on Friday morning to kick off the city’s first snow-clearing operation of the season. Starting at 7 a.m., the operation will cover all boroughs.
The City of Montreal has granted permission for immediate snow removal in specific areas like reserved lanes, drop-off zones, school zones, and bike paths. With a workforce of nearly 3,000 employees and 2,500 snow-removal vehicles, the operation will cover the extensive 11,000 kilometers of roads in the network.
Emphasizing the importance of sidewalk clearance and prompt removal of parking restrictions post-snow loading, the city assures its residents of their commitment to efficient snow management.
Keep track of the snow-removal progress in real time through the 311 Montreal app offered by the city. Additionally, an online map is available to assist in locating free parking spaces during this period.
