North Vancouver RCMP is currently investigating a tragic single-vehicle accident that occurred on Friday evening resulting in the death of one individual and leaving another in serious condition.
The incident took place at the intersection of Berkley Avenue and Sechelt Drive around 10:30 p.m. Emergency responders arrived at the scene to find a white BMW 535 that had collided with a tree.
Despite the best efforts of the responding teams, the driver, a 19-year-old man from North Vancouver, sadly succumbed to his injuries. The passenger, however, was transported to the hospital in serious condition but is expected to recover.
Cpl. Mansoor Sahak stated that authorities are actively investigating the circumstances that led to the crash. Anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has dash cam footage is urged to contact the North Vancouver RCMP at 604-985-1311, quoting file number 25-25963.
