Montreal residents woke up to a blanket of snow on Saturday, creating a picturesque winter scene across the city and signaling the arrival of December.
According to the latest forecast from Environment and Climate Change Canada, the day will be mostly cloudy with light snowfall expected throughout the morning, amounting to approximately two centimetres of accumulation. The day will see temperatures reaching a high of minus-3 degrees Celsius and winds picking up to 15 km/h. The morning wind chill is forecasted to feel like minus-18 degrees Celsius, gradually improving to around minus-8 degrees Celsius by the afternoon.
As the day progresses, the snowfall is anticipated to diminish by the evening, giving way to cloudy skies. Overnight, the southwest winds will lessen to about 20 km/h late in the evening, causing temperatures to drop to a low of minus-9 degrees Celsius with a wind chill nearing minus-14 degrees Celsius.
Looking ahead to Sunday, the morning will bring clearing skies and the development of west winds by noon at 20 km/h. Expect a daytime high of minus-7 degrees Celsius with a wind chill near minus-17 degrees Celsius. Sunday night will remain clear with temperatures plummeting to minus-11 degrees Celsius.
