The New York Rangers mounted an impressive comeback to defeat the Montreal Canadiens 5-4 in an exciting overtime match on Saturday night. J.T. Miller shone with a crucial power play goal in the extra period, securing his second goal of the game and sealing the victory for the Rangers. The thrilling game saw a flurry of goals, with Will Cuylle, Noah Laba, and Artemi Panarin also finding the back of the net to help the Rangers end a three-game losing streak.
Despite falling behind 3-0 and later 4-2, the Rangers staged a remarkable turnaround, with Cuylle and Miller scoring quick goals in the second period to level the score at 4-4. The teams traded blows early on, combining for eight goals within the first 28 minutes before a tense stalemate led to the dramatic overtime finish.
In addition to Miller’s heroics, Zach Bolduc, Arber Xhekaj, Jake Evans, and Josh Anderson tallied goals for the Canadiens, who suffered their third loss in four games. Nick Suzuki and Lane Hutson each notched two assists for Montreal, while the Rangers’ Mathew Robertson and Conor Sheary provided strong support with two assists each.
