Turmoil Strikes OneBC: Dallas Brodie Ousted as Leader, Party’s Future Hangs in the Balance

OneBC, a political party that emerged following a split from the Conservative Party of B.C., has announced the removal of its leader, Dallas Brodie, by the party’s board of directors.

Tara Armstrong, the party’s sole elected member in the B.C. Legislature, has expressed a loss of confidence in Brodie’s leadership. The party’s official website no longer references Brodie.

In a series of letters posted on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), the party accused individuals, supposedly acting on Brodie’s behalf, of attempting unauthorized control over party assets and breaching security systems. The letters, bearing the OneBC letterhead, detail special resolutions passed by the board for Brodie’s removal, an internal investigation, and amendments to the party’s constitution.

Signatures on the documents include those of Tara Armstrong, OneBC’s executive director Paul Ratchford, and Tim Thielmann, Brodie’s former chief of staff. Ratchford clarified that Thielmann is no longer associated with the party.

Brodie, however, maintains that she remains the interim leader of OneBC and is hosting an event in Langley, B.C., today, though she specifies it is not an official party function. She acknowledged on social media that the party is currently facing challenges.
