A woman suffered a serious hand injury on Monday night when it got caught in a meat grinder while she was at work in East York, according to Toronto police.
The incident occurred at an industrial site in the Overlea Boulevard and Thorncliffe Park Drive area, prompting emergency responders to rush to the scene. The injured woman, an adult, was promptly freed and taken to the hospital for treatment. Although her injuries are severe, they are not believed to be life-threatening.
The Ministry of Labour has been informed and is conducting an investigation into the accident to determine the cause.
