Gridlock Alert: Northbound Traffic Snarls South of the Fraser River

Early Tuesday morning, emergency repair work at the George Massey Tunnel led to significant congestion for northbound traffic along Highway 99, creating delays between Delta and Richmond.

A temporary closure of one lane in the northbound direction was necessary for the repair work, causing major disruptions. Though the lane has since reopened, the residual effects continue to impact traffic flow, with congestion extending up to Ladner Trunk Road.

Additionally, drivers seeking alternative routes faced challenges as incidents on the Alex Fraser Bridge resulted in further northbound traffic delays along Highway 91.
