“Measles Outbreak in St-Eustache Escalates with Two Additional Confirmed Cases”

Quebec declares new measles outbreak with five confirmed cases linked to a pediatric center in Saint-Eustache. If you visited the UP pediatric emergency center on Nov. 28, monitor symptoms until December 19 as exposure may have occurred.

Measles symptoms include high fever, cough, runny nose, red eyes, and a rash on the face and body. Complications can be severe, especially for babies, those with weakened immune systems, and unvaccinated pregnant women.

Vaccination is crucial for protection. In Quebec, the vaccine is free and available to all ages. Appointments can be made at clicsante.ca or through healthcare providers.

During the previous outbreak, Quebec reported 36 cases, significantly lower than Alberta and Ontario’s 2,000+ cases.
