In a recent incident in the Fabreville district of Laval, a school bus collided with a seven-year-old girl late Tuesday afternoon, resulting in the child being injured.
The young girl was promptly taken to Sainte-Justine Hospital in Montreal for medical attention. Thankfully, she remained conscious during the journey, as confirmed by authorities.
According to police reports, the accident took place around 4 p.m. at the junction of Raphaël and Siméon streets.
Following the collision, the bus driver continued with the route but was located within an hour on Montreal’s North Shore. Investigators are set to interview the driver soon, suspecting that the driver might not have been aware of hitting the child.
The circumstances surrounding the incident are currently being investigated.
The incident follows a previous tragedy in Laval’s Champfleury area, where a 13-year-old girl lost her life after being struck by a school bus while disembarking.
