“Batshaw Foundation Unveils Bold ‘Risk to Resilience’ Initiative to Transform Lives of Montreal’s At-Risk Youth”

The Batshaw Foundation is launching the impactful “Risk to Resilience” campaign to address the increasing number of at-risk youth in Montreal. Through a touching campaign video, four young individuals and a Clinical Activity Specialist share their inspiring journeys from adversity to strength.

Wendy Khan, the executive director of the Batshaw Foundation, emphasized the pressing need for support as more youth face challenges transitioning out of care. She highlighted the Foundation’s crucial role in filling the gaps left by government funding to ensure these individuals have essential resources like mental health support and transportation.

Educational opportunities play a pivotal role in reshaping the lives of at-risk youth. Shockingly, statistics reveal that only 37% of youth under protection in Quebec graduate high school by the age of 21, compared to 86% of the general population. Khan stressed the importance of continued support to prevent these youth from dropping out of school and facing homelessness.

Personal testimonies from beneficiaries like Eliora, Skyler, Jasmine, and Ali underscore the profound impact the Batshaw Foundation has had in providing stability and support during challenging times. From funding education to furnishing homes, the Foundation’s efforts have been life-changing for many.

This heartwarming campaign sheds light on the struggles faced by at-risk youth and highlights the crucial role of community support in transforming lives and creating opportunities for a brighter future.
