A man from British Columbia, Mustafa Abdul Al-Rikabi, has been charged after a search warrant was carried out in downtown Halifax last week. The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) reported that the arrest took place around 5 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 12, at a residence on Brenton Street near Spring Garden Road, following an extensive investigation by the Mounties.
During the search at the residence, authorities confiscated a variety of illegal substances including cocaine, methamphetamine, oxycodone, hydromorphone, MDMA, as well as cash, jewelry, and a switchblade knife, as stated in an RCMP press release.
Mustafa Abdul Al-Rikabi, aged 28 and from Surrey, is now facing multiple charges such as possession for the purpose of trafficking, possession of property obtained through criminal activity amounting to over $5,000, and possession of a weapon.
Al-Rikabi appeared in court on Monday and has been released under certain conditions, awaiting another court appearance scheduled for January, according to the police.
