Pablo Rodriguez will address the media at the Quebec Liberal Party headquarters in Montreal on Thursday morning to announce his resignation as party leader. The decision comes after weeks of controversy and pressure, with Rodriguez facing allegations related to his leadership campaign. Despite maintaining his innocence, calls for his resignation continued to grow. This move comes just over six months after Rodriguez was elected as leader.
The Liberal Party will now begin the search for a new leader, ahead of the provincial election scheduled for the end of 2026. Former candidate Karl Blackburn has shown interest in running for leadership again, while Charles Milliard is still contemplating his options. Former parliamentary leader Marwah Rizqy has ruled out entering the race.
