Police Arrest 18-Year-Old Driver with Loaded Firearm in Whitby
Durham authorities took action after discovering a weapon in a vehicle driven by an 18-year-old in Whitby. The incident unfolded during a routine traffic stop on Dec. 17 at the intersection of Dundas Street and Brock Street.
Following suspicions of alcohol impairment, police detained the young driver and proceeded to search the vehicle. To their alarm, officers found a loaded handgun placed next to the driver’s seat.
Armaan Ali Osmani, a resident of Clarington, was taken into custody and now faces multiple charges, including impaired driving and possession of a prohibited firearm. He remains in custody pending a bail hearing.
