Tragic Multi-Vehicle Crash in Estrie Claims One Life, Injures Seven

Tragic Accident in Bury, Quebec Leaves One Dead and Several Injured

A devastating accident occurred on Wednesday afternoon in Bury, Quebec’s Estrie region, resulting in the loss of one life and leaving seven others injured. The incident involved a school bus and four vehicles colliding on Route 108 near Card Road.

At 3:30 p.m., emergency responders rushed to the scene following the collision, as reported by Élizabeth Marquis-Guy, a spokesperson for the Sûreté du Québec (SQ). Initial information indicates that the school bus, with only one driver on board, was involved in the crash with the four vehicles.

Fortunately, the bus driver escaped unharmed, while eight individuals were transported to the hospital for treatment. Tragically, a woman in her 60s succumbed to her injuries, and a man in his 80s remains in critical condition.

Investigators, including a collision specialist, are meticulously examining the site to piece together the events leading to the tragic accident. The SQ has launched a thorough investigation to shed light on the circumstances surrounding the collision.
