The Canadian Food Inspection Agency has announced a recall of two nut-related products in Ontario over concerns of potential salmonella contamination.
The recall affects Arnie’s All Natural Raw Mix Nuts and Arnie’s Sweet and Savoury Mix, which were on sale between Nov. 1 and Dec. 2. These products were available at Zehr Bayfield in Barrie, as well as Fortinos locations in Brampton and Vaughn.
According to the CFIA, the recall was initiated as part of routine inspection procedures, and there have been no reported cases of illness linked to these nut items.
Consumers are advised to refrain from consuming the recalled products and are urged to either dispose of them or return them to the place of purchase.
It’s important to note that even though salmonella-contaminated products may not exhibit any visible signs of spoilage, they can still cause illness. Individuals with weakened immune systems, young children, and pregnant women are at a higher risk of severe infections.
