A man has been formally charged in connection with a shooting incident at a local business, according to the Abbotsford Police Department (AbbyPD).
The incident occurred at a truck and trailer repair business on King Road near Clearbrook Road on Wednesday night. Following reports of shots fired, the police quickly responded to the scene.
The authorities located a suspect vehicle shortly after the incident and apprehended the driver, identified as 22-year-old Gursewak Singh. AbbyPD confirmed that Singh has been charged in relation to this week’s shooting.
In an effort to aid the investigation, the police have released Singh’s photo to the public, emphasizing the importance of gathering accurate information and encouraging potential witnesses or associates to come forward with any relevant details.
Singh is currently in custody, with his next bail hearing scheduled for December 23. Fortunately, there were no reported injuries resulting from the incident.
This recent shooting marks the second time the business has been targeted in recent weeks. While AbbyPD has not officially linked the two incidents, they suspect both to be extortion-related.
The owner of the business, who has chosen to remain anonymous, expressed distress following the initial shooting on November 12.
