“Two Arrested in Shocking Attempted Murder of 12-Year-Old in Côte-des-Neiges–NDG”

Montreal police have apprehended two suspects in connection with a harrowing incident in the Côte-des-Neiges–Notre-Dame-de-Grâce (CDN-NDG) borough where a 12-year-old boy was stabbed in November.

Following multiple testimonies and investigative efforts, authorities were able to track down the two individuals – a 17-year-old and 19-year-old named Rayan Zackary Rahmani, who were arrested in Montreal on Wednesday.

The incident unfolded at around 6:30 p.m. on November 18, when police officers discovered the young victim collapsed after sustaining a stabbing attack at the intersection of Barclay and Victoria avenues. Thanks to swift action, the child was stabilized and taken to a hospital, ultimately surviving the ordeal despite the serious injuries.

The 19-year-old suspect appeared before the Montreal courthouse facing charges of attempted murder and aggravated assault on Thursday afternoon, while the minor had his case heard in the Youth Division of the Court of Quebec earlier in the day. Both suspects are currently in custody as the legal process unfolds.

The investigation was carried out with the collaboration of various Montreal police units.
