The Burnaby RCMP is currently conducting an investigation following a shooting incident near the Burnaby Mountain Golf Course on Friday evening. The incident took place around 9 p.m. in the vicinity of Woodbrook Place and Burnwood Drive.
Upon arrival, law enforcement officers discovered a man with a gunshot wound. The victim was promptly taken to the hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
Authorities have indicated that the shooting seems to have been a targeted attack.
According to Cpl. Mike Kalanj, speaking to 1130 NewsRadio, the victim is a young resident of the area. He assured the public that there is no ongoing threat to their safety.
