Authorities have apprehended eight individuals from the Greater Toronto Area who are collectively facing over 30 charges related to drug trafficking and firearms following a year-long investigation.
The probe, initiated in December 2024 by Canadian and U.S. officials, targeted a suspect allegedly involved in importing and exporting large amounts of controlled substances between the two countries.
After delving deeper into the case, law enforcement identified additional accomplices involved in the transportation of drugs throughout York Region and various parts of Ontario, as disclosed in a recent police statement.
The situation escalated on October 25, 2025, when law enforcement conducted searches at multiple GTA residences, leading to the arrest of the eight suspects and the laying of 34 charges against them.
During the raids, authorities reportedly seized a significant quantity of controlled substances, including methamphetamine, raw Fentanyl, cocaine, MDMA tablets, and illegal cannabis. Additionally, more than $300,000 in cash, three firearms with ammunition, and two vehicles were confiscated.
Acknowledgments were extended to the Ontario Provincial Police, the United States Drug Enforcement Administration, and the Criminal Intelligence Service Ontario for their invaluable contributions to the investigation.
York Regional Police expressed gratitude for the support and funding provided by the Ontario Government’s Ministry of the Solicitor General, which played a crucial role in ensuring the successful conclusion of the operation.
