Noël Audet, a Christmas aficionado and enthusiast of all things Santa Claus, has spent over 15 years building his collection of Santa figurines, now totaling more than 700 jolly figures.
Audet proudly shares, “When the Santa Claus figurines first arrived, we forgot all about the Christmas trees – the Santa Clauses are nicer!” His collection continues to grow, with recent acquisitions just days apart, driven by the joy they bring him.
The assortment of figurines varies in size, style, and price, some valued at over $200 each. Audet meticulously organizes and cares for his collection, finding solace and holiday cheer in their presence.
Describing his Santa-adorned room, Audet gushes, “When I come down the stairs and arrive in the room, it’s red everywhere, I love it!”
Not content with just collecting, Audet also embodies the spirit of Santa Claus by dressing up as the iconic figure for local children. “On Dec. 20, I’m going to be Santa Claus at the multiethnic community centre here in Montreal North. I’ve been Santa Claus for them for six or seven years now!” he shares eagerly.
As the holiday season winds down, Audet meticulously packs away his cherished figurines with great care and dedication, a process that takes hours of meticulous effort to ensure they are safely stored until the next festive season.
