“Toronto Braces for Wintry Mix: Snow and Rain to Sweep Through Tonight!”

Tomorrow’s Commute Forecast: Prepare for Mixed Precipitation and Snowfall

Get ready for a slower commute on Tuesday morning as messy weather overnight could cause some delays. An Alberta Clipper is set to pass through the region, bringing a mix of light snow, freezing rain, and a chance of ice pellets starting in the early evening.

Toronto can expect around two centimetres of snow due to the mixed precipitation, possibly increasing to five centimetres. Areas outside of Toronto, such as Hamilton, might see up to 10 cm of snowfall.

The snow and rain are expected to ease off by late Tuesday morning, with the day turning mainly cloudy and reaching a high of 5 C.

An Alberta Clipper, a swift low-pressure system originating from Alberta and moving through the Plains and Great Lakes region in winter, typically brings light snow, brisk winds, and colder temperatures.

Looking ahead to Christmas Day, anticipate rain and above-average seasonal temperatures, ruling out a white Christmas for the Greater Toronto Area. Christmas Eve will offer a mix of sun and cloud, with temperatures ranging from 1 C to -1 C, while Christmas Day will be cloudy with a chance of rain and highs of 4 C, dropping to 1 C overnight.

Keep an eye out for potential freezing rain on Boxing Day.
