Quebec Liberals Set to Elect New Leader on March 14 in Pivotal Vote

Quebec Liberal Party to Elect New Leader in March

The Quebec Liberal Party is gearing up for its upcoming leadership race, set to determine the successor to former leader Pablo Rodriguez, who recently resigned. The decision to hold the race came after a series of controversies surrounding Rodriguez, including allegations of impropriety during his previous leadership campaign.

The race will kick off on Jan. 12, with potential candidates required to submit a $30,000 deposit and garner 750 signatures from party members to enter the running. The deadline for nomination papers is Feb. 13, following which candidates will engage in debates yet to be scheduled.

The culmination of the leadership race will be the convention on March 14, where the next leader of the Quebec Liberal Party will be officially chosen.
