Burnaby RCMP Seeks Help in Tracking Down Brazen $100K Bobcat Heist

The Burnaby RCMP is seeking the public’s assistance in the investigation of a high-value theft involving a $100,000 Bobcat loader.

According to authorities, on the morning of Nov. 30, two pickup trucks were spotted in the vicinity of Midlawn Drive and Westlawn Drive. One of the trucks was pulling an empty flat deck trailer.

Shortly after their arrival, the same two vehicles were seen leaving the area with the stolen Bobcat loader loaded onto the flatbed trailer. Cpl. Mike Kalanj emphasized the severity of the crime, stating, “This is not just an inconvenience to the owner but a significant hundred-thousand-dollar theft.”

The RCMP is urging anyone who may have information regarding the incident or recognizes the suspect vehicles to come forward and assist with the investigation.

The first suspect vehicle is described as a dark-coloured Chevy Silverado with a black tonneau cover and a distinctive silver or grey gas door on the driver’s side. It is noted that the lower portion of the truck’s body is of a lighter shade compared to the top. This truck was towing the flat deck trailer during the theft.

The second suspect vehicle is believed to be a red two-door Ford Ranger.
