The White Rock RCMP is currently conducting an investigation into a tragic hit and run incident that occurred on Tuesday.
Around 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday, officers responded to a report in the vicinity of Cliff Avenue near Finlay Street.
Upon arrival, law enforcement found a bystander administering CPR, but unfortunately, despite efforts to save the individual, they were pronounced deceased, as confirmed by the Mounties.
Initial indications suggested that the victim had been struck by a vehicle, prompting the involvement of the Integrated Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Service (ICARS) in the ongoing inquiry.
Following preliminary inquiries, authorities were able to pinpoint a suspect vehicle, which has been located and confiscated by the police.
Efforts are now underway to identify the driver implicated in the incident, with law enforcement actively pursuing leads to bring them to justice.
